Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery requires up to 6 additional years of hospital based surgical and anesthesia training. As Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Dr. Monterubio and Dr. Herbosa manage a wide variety of problems relating to the Mouth, Teeth and Facial Regions. Dr. Monterubio and Dr. Herbosa practice the full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with expertise ranging from Corrective Jaw Surgery to Dental Implant Surgery and Wisdom Tooth Removal. They can also diagnose and treat Facial Pain, Facial Injuries and TMJ disorders.

John R. Monterubio, DDS

John R. Monterubio, DDSDr. Monterubio is native to St. Louis. He graduated from Ladue High school in 1972. He then attended Creighton University and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1976. He then entered Creighton University School of Dentistry and received his Doctor of Dental Science degree in 1980 and graduated in the top 10% of his class. In 1980 and 1981 he completed a residency in hospital dentistry at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Leavenworth, Kansas. He then entered the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency program at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. At the completion of this post Graduate program in June 1985, he returned to St. Louis to begin his practice of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Monterubio is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons.

Dentistry and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is an ever changing and improving environment. Dr. Monterubio and his staff are committed to keep abreast of these changes and advancements. He attends continuing education courses throughout the year to keep abreast of the changes and integrates the latest technologic advances in his surgery practice.

Eugenio G. Herbosa, DMD, MMSc

Eugenio G. Herbosa, DMD, MMScDr. Herbosa was born and raised in Manilla, Philippines where he earned his dental degree (DMD) from the University of the East. In 1982, he came to the United States to attend a three-year fellowship program in Oral Pathology at Harvard University in Boston, Massachusetts. There he earned the degree of Master of Medical Sciences (M.M.Sc) in Oral Biology and a Specialty Certificate in Oral Pathology. In 1985 Dr. Herbosa attended a Residency program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of California, Los Angeles Medical Center. Thereafter, in 1988, he attended a post-residency Fellowship in the nonsurgical and surgical treatment of disorders of the temporomandibular joint and surgical correction of dentofacial deformities at the St. Mary's Health Center / St. Louis University Medical School. Dr. Herbosa is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons.

Dr. Herbosa has been in private practice in St. Louis, Missouri since 1991.
